WWE has always welcomed stars who make an impact outside the promotion. TNA champ Joe Hendry has garnered huge attention since last year, and WWE is reportedly eyeing signing him to its company as soon as he is available.
The man who appears after saying his name has captivated wrestling fans worldwide. Moreover, Hendry has made numerous appearances in WWE NXT as part of their partnership with Total Nonstop Wrestling. According to a new report from PWInsider.com, there has been very positive internal feedback within WWE about the reigning TNA World Champion.
The report added, it is “pretty much considered a lock” by many that Hendry will end up signing with the company once he is contractually free. Hendry is in “high regard” currently. Rumors suggest his TNA contract will expire in a year.
Joe Hendry competed on the biggest stage of his wrestling career so far a few weeks back. He was revealed to be Randy Orton’s surprise opponent for WrestleMania 41. Hendry received a huge ovation upon his entry into the Allegiant Stadium. Although Orton squashed him, Hendry delivered a memorable performance against the WWE legend.
He has continued to make appearances for both TNA Wrestling and WWE NXT since. It was recently announced that he will defend his World Championship against former NXT champ Trick Williams at their upcoming PLE, Battleground. This will be the first time the top championship from TNA will be defended at a WWE event.
