A new match listing for an upcoming WWE live event may be evidence that the company could be testing a potential World Heavyweight Title feud between Penta and Gunther.
This Saturday night, Raw’s top champion, Gunther, will defend his World Heavyweight belt against WCW icon and WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg in what is expected to be the legend’s final match. However, it is unclear what his plans will be for SummerSlam in a few weeks.

There are some who assume it will be a match against CM Punk. After the company seemingly hinted at a potential bout when the two had a bit of an altercation on an episode of Raw late last night. However, the company may be testing another option.
X account Wrestle Ops noted that the company is advertising a championship match between Gunther and Lucha star Penta for their live event in Corpus Christi, Texas, next week.
Is it a lock that the two could be heading into a feud on WWE TV soon? Not necessarily. For example, the current champ and Punk had matches at live events months ago. However, the company has a long history of crowd testing potential or planned feuds at untelevised shows before they appear on television.
Gunther does not have an obvious opponent once he finishes up this short rivalry with Goldberg. If they plan for him to hold the belt for several more months, they need foes to take some losses. Penta would be an intriguing option. Firstly, because the matches would be stellar. Secondly, being in a major program will help to elevate his status even in defeat.
