A worrisome new report suggests that ticket sales for WWE Evolution 2 are doing poorly, just a week away from the historic card.
Many WWE fans and talents have asked and urged for years to do a sequel to their history-making all-women’s event from 2018. After seven years of requests, the promotion will finally produce WWE Evolution 2 next weekend.
The card is stacked and features three world singles title matches. Including what will be another barnburner between Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky for the women’s world title. Several WWE women’s division greats are also expected or rumored to take part. Such as Trish Stratus and The Iconics.
However, it seems despite a strong card and having the best women’s roster on the planet, ticket sales for the event are not doing good. Especially, compared to Saturday Night’s Main Event being in the same building the night before.
On Saturday, Wrestle Tix reported that just 4,804 tickets for WWE Evolution 2 have been sold. Which is less than half of the 10,731 sold for SNME in the same building — Atlanta’s State Farm Arena — the night before. And the data doesn’t show that there will be a big surge in the next week.
“Based on resale patterns, I’d expect SNME to have more upper deck sections occupied. Evolution, on the other hand, has very little resale activity up there and a significantly lower price point in the lower bowl,” the account claimed. “So it’s likely anyone with combo tickets in the upper deck will be moved to the lower bowl.”
While the setup for the July 12 event is just over 6,000 seats, half of the expected amount WWE is aiming for at SNME, it is still a disappointing number so far. One has to wonder if booking a major event the day before, featuring Goldberg’s retirement match back backfired. And fans chose to use their money on SNME instead.
