WWE Great Reveals Original Plans For Him To Be Vince McMahon’s Illegitimate Son

Former WWE star Mr. Kennedy claims that he was originally in line to be revealed as Vince McMahon’s illegitimate son in 2007.

One of the weirder storylines of the 2000s era of WWE (and there were many) was that Vince McMahon had a son out of wedlock. After months of storytelling, it was eventually revealed that pint-size wrestler Hornswoggle was the WWE founder’s storyline son.

However, in a new edition of his Mic Check podcast, Mr. Kennedy, AKA Ken Anderson in TNA, revealed that he was originally in line to land the role of being his boss’s illegitimate son.

“It was presented to me. I remember Stephanie [McMahon] first said, ‘Hey, Vince needs to talk to you about something. I think you’ll really like it,'” Kennedy recalled [h/t WrestlingNews.co]. “And then, you know, I talked to Vince, and he pitched this whole, ‘It’s going to be a long storyline. I’m looking for my illegitimate son or child, as it were… We’re going to do an investigation, and then we’re going to find him.’”

“He said, ‘I don’t know where it goes from there. We’ll see. It could last a couple of months. It could last a year. Who knows?’ And it ended up going over a year, right?” he said. “With Hornswoggle. He was the only; he was the answer, right? Like, if it wasn’t going to be me, it had to be Hornswoggle.”

That is another major WWE storyline that Mr. Kennedy was originally in line to be in before plans changed. He revealed this year that in 2007, he was supposed to cash in the Money in the Bank trophy on the Undertaker and win the WWE title. Unfortunately, a misdiagnosed injury led to him losing the briefcase and not winning one of the company’s top titles.

Mr. Kennedy was released from WWE in 2009 and never returned to the company.
