Some WWE superstars have gotten an opportunity and ran with it, while others have disappointed. Of course, for some of these stars there are more denominators to consider than their wrestling skills! So, let us take a closer look at the WWE Superstars who have not broke through the glass ceiling this year.
Bayley
Despite wanting to like Bayley, the former NXT champion is having some problems connecting to the adult audience of the WWE. Recently, it also came to light that Bayley will not be attending Summerslam due to an injury. Naturally, this will again have an impact on her popularity and the chances she gets in the future.
Enzo Amore
While Enzo Amore is getting more popular among fans with every passing day, there are some problems! Enzo has been experiencing some backstage heat, upsetting major superstars such as Roman Reigns and even the big boss Vince McMahon.
Despite his problems backstage, there is no doubt that Enzo is one of the best talkers in the business. Unfortunately, it has not translated to amazing work in the ring. There are even rumors about Enzo being demoted back to NXT! Not only because of his backstage attitude, but also for his in-ring work!
Randy Orton
Even though Randy has nothing to prove, since he is already a multi-time champion, the WWE Universe has been grumbling about his performance of late.
One of the biggest issues the universe has with Orton is the hyped matches that turn out to be horrible, just think about the House of Horrors match with Bray Wyatt. A more recent example is the Punjabi Prison Match at Battleground, declared as the worst rated pay-per-view in WWE history!
Dean Ambrose
One of the biggest disappointments for many wrestling fans is Dean Ambrose this year, mainly because people are expecting something new from the lunatic fringe. However, since his move from SmackDown Live to RAW, Dean Ambrose has not been doing so well.
While many wrestling fans are squarely behind Dean Ambrose, there is clearly a problem with his character development. Even though he is labelled as a ‘lunatic’, there is little lunatic to find in his 2017 performance. Many believe that Dean Ambrose has reached the height of his career and cannot come up with anything new, but I think Dean Ambrose still has many surprises for us!
Seth Rollins
Another wrestler who is on my favorites shortlist is also on this list unfortunately – Seth Rollins. Since beating his mentor Triple H, Seth Rollins has been coasting along in uninteresting story-lines. Even though he is on the WWE 2K18 game cover, baby face Seth Rollins has lost some steam.
I do not think Seth Rollins is done though, I just think he needs some time to find himself in a face role again. I personally like him as a face, so with a couple of good bookings, he could certainly leave a lasting impression for 2017.
Which of these superstars do you think have reached their maximum potential already? And who do you think will provide us with a big surprise in 2017? Let us know in the comment section below!
