Wave and Beach Ball Play Center Stage During Wyatt and Hardy Match

Bray Wyatt has not been known to put on exciting matches over the past year, but Matt Hardy certainly has. Unfortunately, it seemed like the Elimination Chamber crowd had little interest in the match between the pair, here is the story.

Waves and Beach Balls

Even though beach balls are no longer allows during matches and pay-per-views, one sneaky fan managed to get a beach ball in. Usually, beach balls are used during matches the crowd finds less than interesting. Unfortunately for Hardy and Wyatt, the beach ball was launched into the crowd during their match.

Throughout the match, observant fans may have noticed the occasional Mexican wave too. While most wrestlers would ignore it, you can see Matt Hardy making wave motions during the match himself, trying to play the crowd and get them invested into the match again. While Hardy managed to keep interest, Wyatt certainly did not make it easy with a performance that was below par.

Rusev Day

Even though I’m thoroughly enjoying the Rusev Day gimmick involving Rusev and Aiden English, there is certainly a time and place for the Rusev chants. One of the places where such a chant would be deemed inappropriate is during a match that does not include Rusev or Aiden English. Unfortunately, this is also what happened during the Wyatt and Hardy match.

What I Thought of the Match

I have to be honest, I looked forward to this match. While I had no doubt Matt Hardy would put on a stellar performance, I was less sure about Bray Wyatt who has been under-performing for months!

As expected, Matt Hardy showed how great he still is and how he works the crowd as a pro. Of course, this stood in stark contrast with Bray Wyatt, whose performance I would not even put on a pay-per-view match.

I have been stating for a while that Wyatt is stagnant in his career. While the man shoots some of the best promos I have ever seen, he does not seem to translate that talent into the ring anymore. Whenever I think of a Wyatt match, I’m thinking about something slow-paced. If not for Matt Hardy, the match would have been a lot worse I’m afraid.

What did you think about the match between Hardy and Wyatt? Do you think Wyatt pulled the match down and caused the beach ball incident? Or was it just a coincidence? Let us know in the comment section below.
