The Six Craziest Moments From SummerSlam

SummerSlam is the biggest event of the Summer (or Winter for our Southern Hemisphere fans). In a lot of ways, it serves as the Anti-WrestleMania. Bad guys win and new stories are started instead of ended.

That being said, we should expect a few title changes and upsets tonight. Here’s the running tally of the craziest moments.

Ziggler vs. Rollins (IC TITLE MATCH)

First up in the opening match we had a TITLE CHANGE! The insane Intercontinental Title match between Dolph Ziggler(w Drew McIntyre) and Seth Rollins (w Dean Ambrose). I think a lot of us predicted a loss for Rollins. BUT PLANS ALWAYS CHANGE!

What this means:

The Shield reunion is ON! If Roman wins the Universial Title tonight, expect the Hounds of Justice to continue that run that ended abruptly last year due to injuries and sickness. As for Dolph? The rumors are out again that he may not be re-signing with WWE. Have we seen the end of the Z-Man? And what about Drew McIntyre? I would imagine The Scottish assassin is next in line for the IC title.

Carmella vs. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair (SmackDown Live Women’s Title)

This one as a bit of a back and forth. Carmella looked good and clearly heard all the criticisms of her refusing to wrestle or ‘take a bump.”

Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles (WWE title)

This seemed like another “Dream Match” except WWE didn’t play it that way. Instead, we got a vicious and cruel Samoa Joe calling out Styles for being an absentee father. The match even started out with Joe calling out AJ’s wife and daughter in the crowd. The match started slow and then got crazy at the end.

It looks like the rumors of this match moving to Hell In A Cell were true!

The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan

We told you this wouldn’t end! Daniel Bryan and The Miz had a long, slow match. For those of who are fans of Southern/Memphis wrestling, it was a great tribute. Both guys looked phenomenal!

Jeff Hardy vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (US Title)

The match was good with both guys spilling all that fine charisma all over the canvas. But the match will be remembered for this out-right dumb moment from Jeff.
