Vince McMahon’s days as a part of WWE and its universe are over. However, his run in professional wrestling may not. Since his ouster from the company two years ago, there have been rumors about what he has been up to. Including the creation of a new production company.
While the belief is the company could develop television shows and movies, reporter Justin Barrasso claimed this week many in the entertainment business believe “McMahon will ultimately find himself involved again in professional wrestling.” He also added that he still has many supporters among the pro wrestler ranks.
If he does return to the industry, it will be with a new promotion. With that in mind, we look at seven WWE legends who might be willing to work with Vince McMahon in a new wrestling company.
Brock Lesnar
Since being mentioned in McMahon’s ongoing sex trafficking lawsuit, Brock Lesnar has been put on ice by WWE. Sooner or later, his contract will run out, and he will be free once again. Due to their close relationship, the WWE founder making Lesnar the centerpiece of a new company makes so much sense for both.
The Hardys
With both in or closing in on their 50s, the Hardys are all about maxing out their money-making opportunities before they eventually retire. With WWE unlikely to bring them back for an extended run, a big offer from McMahon and the chance to win tag gold in another promotion could intrigue the legendary brothers.
Goldberg
Bill Goldberg is supposed to have his retirement match next month. But who is to say that it won’t just be his WWE retirement match? He recently revealed a dream to have a match in Israel. If McMahon could give him that, a return to work together one more time in the next couple of years is very possible.
Kane
Kane has always been a strong Vince McMahon loyalist. Plus, their political and social leanings also lineup. The 58-year-old is still in pretty good shape. Coming back to the ring to be an occasional star in his old boss’s new promotion is likely. Especially if the price is right.
Alberto Del Rio
Alberto Del Rio has made many headlines for the wrong reasons since his peak period in WWE. The company won’t make him a featured part of their acquisition of AAA, and it just seems like sooner or later, they’ll cut ties with the former WWE champ. When they do, working for the man who made him a superstar is nearly a guarantee.
Ric Flair
At 76 years old, Ric Flair should quietly fade into retirement and enjoy the late stages of his life. But the pro wrestling icon just can’t get away from the spotlight. Because of his name value, even with younger fans, McMahon will definitely consider bringing “The Nature Boy” into his new wrestling company.
