New Feud for Roman Reigns in the Works?

If you have been following the latest news, you already know Braun Strowman will be out with an injury for a couple of weeks. As a result, there was much speculation over the next rivalry for Roman Reigns. Fortunately, there has been an update on that front, since The Miz will be his next opponent.

The New Miz Rivalry

It seemed like a rivalry between The Miz and Roman Reigns was already in the cards, so Braun Strowman’s injury has only sped up things. The WWE’s original plan was for Roman Reigns to lose against Braun Strowman during an Ambulance Match at Extreme Rules. Braun would then move on to face Lesnar and Reigns would face The Miz. Therefore, the injury has just moved these plans forward a little.

Challenging Lesnar at WrestleMania

Based on the current rumours and statements made by WWE officials, it seems that I was right about Lesnar holding the title until WrestleMania, at least before Braun Strowman got injured.

Sources claim that the plan was for Roman Reigns to take the title from The Miz and then challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at Mania. If this is still the plan, then it means Lesnar won’t lose the title until WrestleMania 34. Unfortunately, I did not want this prediction to come true.

I don’t believe Roman Reigns is all that excited about facing Brock Lesnar again. Like Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns has stated in the past that no effort was made by Lesnar or Paul Heyman to make the match more interesting. The only thing they wanted was to beat down Reigns. Similar statements were made by Ambrose, who claimed that Lesnar did not want to put more things in the match to make it more interesting.

Another Underwhelming Match at WrestleMania?

If the plan goes ahead and Roman Reigns faces Brock Lesnar for the title at WrestleMania 34, we are in for another underwhelming main event match. Don’t get me wrong though, Roman Reigns is not to blame in this case, Lesnar is the one that makes it less-than-watchable for me at the moment!

Even though Roman Reigns has a limited move set in my opinion (not everyone agrees with me on that one), he does make an effort to put on a good match and work his behind off every week. Even after the death of his brother Rosey, he still appeared on WWE television shortly after, while Brock Lesnar was nowhere to be seen.

So my dear friends, we are once again looking at a boring main event at the next WrestleMania. I know Reigns is going to try to make it an interesting match, but it takes two to tango (or in this case wrestle). If I’m right – and God I hope I’m wrong this time – Lesnar might do another Suplex City and an F5 or two. That will be the extent of it. So, we might be getting a repeat from last year’s WrestleMania. I would go do my laundry again during the match – like I did last year – but I do want to see Lesnar lose that title!

Is The Miz rivalry a good idea? And what do you think about the fact the Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns might be the main event again?
