‘-AJ Styles may have lost his WWE World Championship last Tuesday, but all the news is not bad for the former champion. Styles, widely regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound wrestlers of this generation, may be getting income and a schedule commensurate with his abilities.
Fightful is reporting that WWE is working on a new contract with the talented former champion. As many Superstars have sought before him, it’s been reported that AJ Styles is seeking a more favorable schedule. With the schedule-more in line with the work dates that Randy Orton has, for example-Styles is seeking more at-home time with the family. It seems his angle with Samoa Joe from a couple months back may have been more fact than fiction.
It was reported that Styles himself actually suggested or was at least on board with him dropping the title on SmackDown last week. By losing the World Championship, he would then be able to instantly spend more time at home (he was not at Survivor Series).
WWE reportedly is seeking a three year deal, and assuming they are willing and able to provide an easier schedule like other veteran Superstars have received, then we should be seeing the Phenomenal One in a WWE ring for years to come.
–Rey Mysterio recently filed for a new trademark. The diminutive Superstar, himself recently returned to WWE, filed a trademark for the name Principe Mysterio, according to prowrestling.com.
The trademark is likely not for the long time wrestling legend, but perhaps it is for his 21 year old son Dominick. Principe translates into prince, which would make sense considering Rey’s translates into king.
The son of Mysterio has been training for an eventual in ring debut. He had been taking part in a three month pro wrestling training under the guidance of former WWE Superstar Lance Storm in Canada.
