On Thursday evening, company CEO Dana White surprised fans on social media with several fight announcements including a pair of former champions scheduled for the highly anticipated UFC 300.
UFC 300 will take place at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on April 13. No main event has been set so far, but the trio of bouts White announced are unlikely to disappoint.
Jiri Prochazka vs Aleksandar Rakic
Former light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka will face Alexsandar Rakic in what will be a pivotal bout for the 205-pound division. Jiri Prochazka is looking to right the ship after failing to recapture the crown against Alex Pereira at UFC 295. It was his first fight after vacating the title due to a shoulder injury.
Aleksandar Rakic will be returning from a nearly two-year layoff after injuring his leg in a third round TKO loss to Jan Blachowicz. A rematch with Blachowicz was scheduled for UFC 297 in January, however Blachowicz withdrew after suffering an injury of his own.

Aljamain Sterling vs Calvin Kattar
After teasing a jump up the scale for some time, Aljamain Sterling will finally make his featherweight debut against perennial contender Calvin Kattar. Sterling last fought in August at UFC 292 when Sean O’Malley scored an upset second round KO to snatch the bantamweight title.
Calvin Kattar will end 18 months of inactivity when he faces Aljamain Sterling. In Oct. of 2022, Kattar suffered a knee injury in the second round of his Fight Night main event against Arnold Allen. The resulting TKO was his second straight defeat following a split decision loss to Josh Emmett four months earlier.
Bo Nickal vs Cody Brundage
Rising middleweight star Bo Nickal will attempt to add more momentum to the hype train at the expense of Cody Brundage. Nickal extended his undefeated record to five wins after knocking out late replacement Val Woodburn in just 38 seconds at UFC 290.
Brundage is on a two-fight win streak and captured attention with a memorable slam KO against Zach Reese earlier this month.
